The following collection of poetry is a transitional catalogue of my poetic journey. It is the final volume in a three part series that explores the shadow work I immersed myself into back in mid 2010. My work consisted of a rather systematic and serious deep dive into Ceremonial Magic done in the spirit of uninhibited introspection and self-therapy.

Using a combination of ritualistic devices such as automatic writing, psychedelics, invocation/evocation, demonics and art, I was able to develop an abstract enough therapy capable of excavating very subversive trauma within my own psyche. Jewish, Arabic, and English Mysticism, Luciferianism, Alchemy, Hermeticism, and Chaos Magic, were some of the many magical currents that I borrowed from while composing a custom regiment of magikal operations and practices that I would use to subvert the guardians of my psyche and gain access to my most sub-conscious aspects.

I often refer to my poems as poetic algorithms, programs and/or digital daemons used to trigger and access thought patterning so that I could create conversation with very deep and inhospitable aspects of my psyche. These aspects were difficult to access due to the fact that they were often pre-verbal in origin or they lacked a basic understanding of mutual language and/or articulation. This is why the abstracts of poetics and art became very useful in creating a somatic dialogue with very traumatized parts of my psyche that needed repair. Lucifuge is the final collection of poetics gathered from my magical descents into the dark night of the soul, and a culmination of a very unique path on the journey to my psychological healing. —Matthew Thomas Hayos (aka Erik)
